Gecko Babies
born Feb 20 & 21, 2007

First, I really must tell you the story...

I had not even noticed the two tiny eggs resting in the base of the desk lamp
right next to my reading chair, until I turned on the light the evening of the 20th.
I mentioned them to Andy, and he looked at them too. Then I went on reading.
It wasn't 5 minutes later I heard a little "scratch..scratch" sound, looked over, and...
TaDa! We were parents! The first little tike had been born.

Andy said he looked more like a gecko to him than a lizard,
so that's what we're calling them.
Isn't he cute!!??!
Clearly, the heat from the lamp being on had brought him out of his shell.

The next night, I again turned on the lamp, and Presto! Baby #2 was born!

I took about 100 pics,
but will give you a break and try to limit myself to just a few here.

I offered her a drop of water...

mmm... she says

Next thing I new, she was jumping ship...

(by the way...don't look at the dust...)

She had begun investigating her world already, and only 5 minutes old...

Bye, bye little baby!

The last I saw of her.
My, they sure do grow up fast these days,
gone from the nest before you know it.

But Oh! What an experience!
